Tyler’s actions are completely in character. 

In TF, if you don’t pay for Tyler and Abby to get together, Tyler goes to the end of quarter dance with Leila. By the time Abbie realized Tyler was trying to ask her out, Leila has swooped in and Tyler was so insecure he just ditches Abbie for not immediately understanding his unclear efforts to ask her out. Not only that, but he agrees when Leila disparages Abbie, saying that Abbie only wants Tyler because Leila is showing interest, when in reality they were both awkward and couldn’t express their feelings towards one another. But somehow Tyler manages to make it seem like Abbie’s fault. 

In TS Tyler makes friends with Sebastian, someone who had been openly antagonistic towards his friends, unapologetically tried to get Chris and MC’s scholarships revoked and prevent Zig from even going to school, all while embezzling school funds for himself. What’s more is that he keeps insisting on inviting Sebastian to his friends’ home (where he does not live) knowing how they feel about Sebastian and opening them up to Sebastian’s eventual sabotage.

Now, in TJ, Tyler immediately jumps on board with Alpha Theta Mu, who are clearly sketchy and gets roped into contributing to their schemes. No way he didn’t know leaking James book would be bad for James. (Good intentions my ass.) And the second he’s confronted he sticks up for the obvious wrongdoing and the people behind it, ignoring his friends and GF of 3 YEARS! And then he lets those same people berate his GF to the point of tears all while “looking conflicted”

In summary, Tyler ain’t never been shit and continues to not be shit.
