is that supposed to be part of the alleged ava “"slow burn”“” because if it is i’m rioting. like. you wanna make it a slow burn? should’ve given us more chances to hang out with our “best friend”. should’ve shown ava & mc having fun and drop subtle hints that maybe there is a crush there. should’ve had us talking to her about her relationship, too, maybe have her also express that she’s not sure about mason. should’ve let us text HER to show our party outfit, ffs.

so far we only seem to talk about her with mason and she’s given the annoying overbearing girlfriend treatment while mason is still the good guy even though he’s the one who’s lowkey cheating and hitting on mc. and she’s appeared like, what, 3 times? then the ‘hints’ become glaring and unsatisfying. slow burn is not 'give us nothing for almost 20 chapters and then suddenly it’s a thing’, that’s just sidelining. slow burn is supposed to build up! have tension! we can’t do that with a person we’re not meeting. and again this is supposed to be our Best Friend let us be best friends and go from there!
